St. Mary Falls

This image is of St. Mary Falls in Glacier National Park and what I consider my first semi-successful blurred water photo. It is a little underexposed, but it was also overcast and rainy when we were on this hike. The rain started in earnest as I was taking this shot. While I’d like to have had my tripod and spent some time setting up, this is a pretty busy spot on the trail and there isn’t a lot of room to pass. So, I count it as a win to have done this supported on a rock ledge in less than ideal conditions.

The hike out to St. Mary Falls is a nice one, not very challenging, and with a nice reward. If you have the time, and I recommend that even if you don’t, find it, and go on to Victoria Falls.img_4465 It’s a little further, but as you can see it’s worth the trip. Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay long at this spot either as the rain was coming down even harder and we weren’t as prepared as we should’ve been.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of time on site mostly due to the deteriorating weather, this shot isn’t much to write home about, but it hopefully peaks your curiosity enough to get you to go the extra mile and see for yourself.

Glacier National Park has plenty to explore, whether you’re more of a hotel every night kind of person or a backcountry hiker, you won’t be disappointed.

Until next time, thanks for reading! Please comment and share!
